Latest news from Imagenex and the DELTA-T multibeam sonar.
We have articles on the GAVIA AUV system and a bunch of other related very interesting articles in the web site as follows :

Delta-T multibeam systems have been in steady demand with ASHTEAD TECHNOLOGY purchasing a sizeable stock of Delta-T 837A Profiler systems for their rental business in 2008/09 Hydro Products is pleased to be the supplier to Ashtead for their world wide operations.
We have the full support services of Helmut Lanziner, Senior Applications Engineer from Imagenex in Canada, Helmut is frequently offshore conducting training and support for new users of Delta-T multibeams - he is resident in Vancouver at present time and available to be of service to UK clients by arrangement via Hydro Products
We are pleased to have received good feedback from Acergy Group who have enabled us to further develop the multibeam sonars for the offshore market place - Acergy are assisting us with the introduction of a new Quad Delta-T configuration as well as other S/W packages related to the pipeline survey sector. We are particularly focussed upon small diameter pipeline profiling configurations ...keep in touch with Hydro Products for latest developments which will include the use of very high freq (2.25MHz) Profiler sonar type 831L .
Sub Sea 7 is a well respected client of Hydro Products and they also have assisted us with the all important S/W upgrades inevitably required in the course of a new generation multibeam sonar. The Survey Group at SS7 has been involved closely with Hydro Products / Imagenex from the early stages of Delta-T introduction to the North Sea and presently have Delta-T multibeam Profiler sonars operating around the world on their work class ROV's.
Hydro Products anticipates a growing market for the Delta-T range of sonars with O&G users in the offshore survey and inspection market place. Delta-T profilers are used in excavation systems for trench profiling imaging with real time operator display, Delta-T profilers are used on Plough systems to determine the centralising of the product either side of the cutter mechanisms - the multibeam is small enough to fir into very enclosed spaces.
Our new Interface Pod unit has up to 5 inputs for ethernet connection and has all the PSU's and Switches contained internally - this allows simple installation and allows direct connection to the ROV pod via Cat5 cable.
CTC UK and Deep Ocean Norway have used Delta-T Profilers offshore on various projects with excellent results - this multibeam has proved to be a worthy cost effective sonar for many operations offshore in pipeline survey, seafloor mapping and trenching operations .
These excellent operations connections with the offshore market has encouraged Imagenex to develop even more products for our users - A new high speed scanning Imager ....new high frequency Profiler sonar ....etc
We now have a range of small SS sonar packages most suited for installation on to ROV's - these are dual freq SS sonars with high performance and low investment cost....please contact Don Mackay at Hydro Products for information.
The BFS 886 , has the high scan speed capabilities of the multibeam imagers and the resolution of single beam sonars - this is new for ROV piloting applications and we are in the process of performing trials with various ROV operators during 2008.
Yet another new product - the Azimuth Drive multibeam sonar , has been introduced and trials are being conducted for this sonar, with ROV operators and survey contractors. Benefits are that 3D images are possible in realtime from a stationary platform (ROV in hover mode or over-the-side from a vessel).
And one more interesting sonar product Type 831A - for internal pipes visualisation etc ... the 831A this is a high freq (2.25MHz) profiling type beam with range resolution of 1/250 (ie 1mm @250mm). Conical beam 1.4 deg - Min det range is 50mm, max range 6m - serial interface - supply 20 - 36VDC.
