Sonar Imaging : The new Imager Sonar is type BFS 886 , this is a multi-element Imaging sonar with the dual features combining high speed beam sweep with high image resolution .

The BFS 886 is available in two frequency options a) 1.1MHz , b) 675KHz

Ranges are resptly 30m and 60m and sector displays of resptly 57.5 deg and 115 deg

The BFS 886 is ideal for ROV piloting when then the target image has to be kept in view , allowing the pilot to navigate directly to the point of interest, thus saving time and aleviating orientation difficulties.

Other Imaging sonars include the highly successful single beam scanning sonar type 881A which is a serial comms sonar .  The sonar is complimented by the recently introduced 881L , an ethernet comms sonar which can be integrated with the Delta-T multibeam Profiling sonar as a imaging and profiling combination package - very well suited to an ROV or Plough/Trencher installation.
